You are mandated by Texas statute to take continuing education classes to renew your Texas real estate license. We encourage you to take classes towards your renewal that will benefit you and make a difference in your business. We regularly receive the question “What do I have to do to renew my license?”
Texas Real Estate Education is the original Texas broadcast-exclusive real estate school offering TREC-approved high-quality live real estate continuing education classes to your location. You have the ability to attend our classes in your comfy PJs from the kitchen table, behind your closed door in your office, or even on your back patio.
Please remember: You can always verify whether you have completed your required education by visiting the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) website and looking up your license number. At the top of your license, just under your license number it will say:
For all regular renewals, you need:
18-hours of approved CE courses, which includes:
- 8-hours of TREC’s Legal Update (I & II)
- 3-hours of Contracts
- 7-hours of elective courses
If you have sponsored one or more sales agents, served as the designated broker for a business entity broker that sponsors sales agents, or have been made a supervisor of other license holders, you must complete the 6-hour TREC Broker Responsibility course as part of your 18-hours of CE.
To renew your license for the first time, you need:
- 90 hours of qualifying sales apprentice education (SAE) courses.
- 8-hours of TREC’s Legal Update (I & II)
If you have a “team or group” or been made a supervisor of other license holders, you must complete the 6-hour TREC Broker Responsibility course as part of your 18-hours of CE.
Texas Real Estate Education and our instructors work hard to provide broadcast class environments where real state professionals can learn how to better perform in the real estate industry, better represent their clients, and learn material that actually benefits their business and clients. Nobody likes the feeling of “CE Jail” (you know those classes that feel like a waste of time just to get the credit). We recognize that continuing education is not one's favorite way to spend their time. However, we do our best to engage all of the students in each class to participate and hopefully learn something new thing in each class.
